Partner
Brad Vernon
Partner of The Vernon Group and founder of Vernon Construction and Province Land Company, Brad oversees the business development for all facets of the company.
​
Brad is a highly experienced General Contractor and third-generation local real estate developer. He serves as the President of The Vernon Group, Province Land Company, and Vernon Construction, Inc. Decades ago, these family companies were built upon a foundation of construction and development experience in Santa Barbara.
​
Brad grew up working in various trades as a contractor for the family business having completed a wide range of residential, commercial, mixed-use, and master-planned communities. He studied Business at California Polytechnic State University. With a focus in Santa Barbara County, Brad has built over 80 custom residences, over 350 multifamily units, 130K SF of commercial, and 200 acres of master-planned communities.
Partner
Brett Vernon
Partner and founder of The Vernon Group, Brett Vernon oversees the company’s multi-family and commercial projects. He is responsible for sourcing, budgeting, and financing new projects as well as designing, executing, and managing current assets.

Brett has more than a decade of experience in multi-family project management and high-end custom home development in the Central Coast of California. Prior to construction and development, Brett owned and operated an internet marketing company and a mobile game company that he sold.
He received a B.S. in Business Administration, a B.A. Managerial Economics from California State University Channel Islands, a Master of Real Estate Development and Design from UC Berkeley, and an MBA from University of Southern California. He is also a Navy SEAL combat Veteran.
Partner
David Alpern
David joined The Vernon Group as a Partner in 2022 working on strategic growth and corporate strategies. His primary focus is on leading land acquisition, entitlements/approvals, and development efforts for the company.
David began his career in Real Estate in 1999 as an Environmental Consultant assisting developers and lead agencies through complex environmental approval processes. Nearly a quarter century later, this specialization and understanding of CEQA, NEPA, and other regulatory requirements has served as valuable expertise in becoming an entrepreneurial land developer and builder.
He received his Masters of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California, where he was awarded the D.J. Moore Award for outstanding academic achievement and professional promise. He graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a degree in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Urban Planning. David currently lives in Ventura County and is a board member of the Ventura County Sheriff Foundation. He received his California Brokers License in May 2008. He likes to make all user-defined variables in his Excel workbooks RED.
Development Associate
Lucas Budgett
Lucas focuses on the acquisition and development of both ground-up and value-add projects in the Central Coast of California where has spend most of his life. He executes operations across all phases of a project cycle with a 'cradle to grave' methodology.

Lucas combines a background in design and architecture with an analytical disposition to visualize and test project feasibility. Prior to The Vernon Group, he completed the design and entitlements for dozens of commercial projects in Southern and Northern California.

He received a Bachelor's in Architecture and Urban Design from UCLA, and a Master's of Real Estate Development and Design from UC Berkeley. He is an avid surfer, painter, and dog sitter.
General Counsel
Robert Forouzandeh
Robert Forouzandeh, born and raised in Santa Barbara, is a Partner at Reicker Pfau and has been with the firm since 2009.
Robert specializes in high stakes corporate, commercial, and employment litigation matters in virtually every industry. Robert approaches litigation with a business perspective, performing aggressively when needed while applying out of the box practical solutions to resolve disputes quickly and cost-efficiently.
His practical approach to problem-solving and general business has resulted in him being retained to act as outside General Counsel for several local businesses including, The Vernon Group, Vernon Construction, AutoCamp, Mesa Lane Partners, etc. guiding them on their day-to-day operations and implementation of best business practices.
Director of Operations
Kristy Grandle
As Director of Operations, Kristy serves as the liaison between the three branches of The Vernon Group enterprise: Development, Construction, and Property Management. With a focus on executing and delegating the many administrative processes related to project management, she ensures the daily flow of operations runs thoroughly and efficiently. Kristy oversees the communications between the Department Executives for all three sectors of the business. She is also the manager of Human Resources, hiring, and employee relations.

Kristy was born and raised in Southern California and has called Santa Barbara her home for 10+ years. She has 26 years of experience in Business Management and has served as the Director of Operations in the fields of Technology, Insurance, and Health & Wellness industries. She is proud to work for a firm who’s positive impact can be seen in the local Central Coast community. When she is not in the office working with her team she enjoys the coastal lifestyle, yoga, and stand-up paddle boarding.
